Loopback
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Calicut has consistently strived to create strong connections between its alumni and current students, through a variety of engaging and memorable events. The most recent of these was the MCA Alumni Meet, held on July 26th, 2024, which featured insightful talks from alumni who shared their experiences and professional journeys. This event provided valuable industry insights to current students, fostering connections with the alumni. The attendees enjoyed refreshments and received gifts, which further enhanced the overall experience and engagement.

Prior to that, on December 17, 23, and 26, 2022, the Computer Science and Engineering Association organized an Alumni Meetup for the batches of 1995, 1996, and 1997 in the APJ Kalam Hall of the CSE department. The primary aim was to provide a platform for alumni to reconnect with each other and share their experiences with current students, building bridges between the past and the present of the department.

Looking further back, Loopback '18, held on February 24, 2018, was another memorable alumni gathering. The event brought together CSE B.Tech, M.Tech, and MCA students from the 2008, 2007, and 2013 batches. The day was filled with interactive sessions, including a Q&A where alumni shared their wisdom with curious students. Alumni enjoyed a scavenger hunt across the campus, sports activities, and a musical night followed by a sumptuous dinner, making it a truly lively experience.

The tradition began with Loopback '17, the first of its kind, which was a combined effort of the students and faculty. It turned out to be a huge success with fun activities such as a treasure hunt and a volleyball game, making it a memorable event for all involved—students, faculty, and alumni alike.
